Johnny Dee was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the 60's, and he became a singer and multi instrumentalist at an early age. He started playing professionally when he was 16, and he went to St. Thomas Aquinas School of Music in Marrietta, Georgia. This school and the rehearsing and concerts which followed, gave him experience that would be proven useful later in his life. Johnny soon became a popular singer among some of the bigger bands at that time, such as Southern R&B, Soul&Rock. Johnny was on the road with several famous musicians, such as Percy Sledge, Greg Allman, Billy Joe Royal, Otis Redding, Dan Seals, Molly Hatchet, The Drifters and Others.
In 1993 was Johnny's composing in the spotlight as well. The production team of Eric Schilling/Ron Taylor (known for their co-operation with Gloria Estefan, The Bellamy Brothers, Jon Secada, Greatful Dead and Frank Sinatra etc.) signed a publisher contract with him for Warner Bros. This lead to the recording of an album in Gloria Estefan's famous studio, "Creasent Moon Studios" in Miami. Although the album never sold very well, the critics were great. The Billboard Magazine called it the best ever to come from the Miami area, and a bigger market for Johnny as a composer was opened.
Nevertheless, Johnny has not quit his piano entertainer career, and he has maximum 200 assignments (days) a year, and he continously updates his repertoire. Johnny plays songs from among others, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Bryan Adams, Creedence, The Cranberries, Sam Cook, Eric Clapton, The Commitmets, The Eagles, Elvis, Fools Garden, The Fugees, Elton John, Delbert McClinton, Queen, Simon & Garfunkel, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp and U2.
