Paul is born in Nottingham in 1964. He started playing the piano at the age of 13, and gi joined several school bands in addition to taking singing lessons. His professional career started when he was 20. The first pianobars he played in was in Puerto Banus and later Lanzarote, Norway and Iceland. Since then has most of the European countries had the pleasure of being part of Paul's working area. When Paul was 26, he started the band "Guaranteed Pure". He toured for three years with this band and they also made and album, but unfortunately there was never any break-through. Paul decided to go solo again and again started working in pianobars all over Norway and the rest of Europe.

The fact is that Paul is today one of the very best piano entertainers who has ever been in Norway. Paul plays anything from slow balads and repetative chill-out to driving rock'n'roll and more funky tunes.

Earlier, Paul was in the studio with the singer in Genesis, Ray Wilson, and recorded an album. There are great expectations to this album and the band that was created prior to the recording, and only time will show whether the work of this band will show up on international hitlists or not.

Although Paul Holmes worked in the studio with Ray Wilson in '97 and '98, he misses the intimacy of pianobars, and G.D.Entertainment often has the pleasure of hiring him for Norwegian pianobars. Once in a while Ray Wilson comes to Norway to visit Paul, and it has happened that Ray then shows up in pianobars where Paul is playing, and sings along with him. If you ever encounter a pianobar where Paul Holmes is behind the piano, you are guaranteed to have a good evening.
